Captain Jaimie Wakeham

Bio:

Jaimie was born in Australia,(yes another aussie), in 1966, and grew up on Burraneer Bay on the south coast of Sydney. From the age of 6 months he lived in a waterfront cottage surrounded by boats in various states of repair.  As a youngster his days were spent on the water either sailing, waterskiing, swimming, basically anything that you could get in to trouble doing on the water, he was a part of.

Jaimie's first paid marine job was at 14 years old at the RMYC Port Hacking yacht club where he and his brother would be coerced into bottom painting various sailboats that raced with the club. At 18 he spent 11 months in England where he got his first skippers job running a small,(very small), passenger ferry across the Thames at Shepperton

After  returning to Australia ,several boat gigs and other exploratory careers later he found himself in 1989 in beautiful Vancouver BC. As they say the rest is history, and 27 years later he still works on and loves the water. Having done duties as a deckhand, engineer, and many positions in between he has worked his way up to the Captain,s position aboard some of Vancouver's premier private yachts.

As a Yacht Agent catering to large visiting yachts and a certified Transport Canada master, Jaimie has a wealth of knowledge to share. Knowledge that can only be gained by spending over a quarter of a century plying the beautiful waters of BC and developing strong relationships with the area's service providers.

Captain Jaimie will personally act as your pilotage waiver officer and not only guide you safely through this pristine coast but also give you some insight into the history and sights.
